Tim Cimmer’s Journey from Athlete to Ice Cross Pioneer
Before Tim Cimmer became the founder of Ice Cross in 2014, he was an aspiring competitor in Red Bull’s Crashed Ice events. His love for skating and motorsports drove him to compete, but his first races were far from easy. The challenges of the turbulent Crashed Ice tracks made Cimmer realize that flat ice skating was vastly different from Ice Cross racing.
Despite early setbacks, Cimmer’s passion only grew stronger. After intensive training, he became among the first North Americans to qualify for a European Crashed Ice competition. But Cimmer wasn’t just a competitor—he saw the potential to transform the sport into something bigger. His business mindset kicked in, and in 2014, Ice Cross was officially born.
By combining his experience as an athlete and his entrepreneurial skills, Cimmer created a sport that has since captured the attention of fans and athletes worldwide. Today, Ice Cross continues to grow under his leadership, cementing Cimmer’s place as a pioneer in the world of extreme sports.
